Daimon Gate - Mount Koya

The massive Daimon gate guards the entrance to Mount Koya.

And two nio ("Benevolent Kings"), Kongorikishi (Ungyo) and Shukongoshin (Agyo), stand at the gate. According to Japanese tradition, these deities are guardians of the Buddha.
