It is said that the temple grounds used to house the residence of the regent Fujiwara Nobunaga, but after becoming the posession of Fujiwara Tadazane, Chief Advisor to the cloistered Chisoku-in, the residence was converted into a temple in the first year of Eikyu (1113). |
