An independent temple of the Rinzai sect founded in the latter half of the 11th century, Hokyo-in contains the graves of military foes Ashikaga Yoshiakira (1330-1367 - 2nd shogun of the Muromachi period) and Kusunoki Masatsura (1326-1348). |
